when was the last time you did something for the first time?

since i have been on my own, i decided that now is the right time to get out there and try new things. i havent had the opportunity to go overseas, zimbabwe by train about 15 years ago is the furthest i have been. i have done nothing adventurous, always scared to try new things.

so with a bit of attitude change and growing a pair, the following is what i have done in the last 4 months:

1) did a intro rock climbing course, where they show and teach you all the safety goodies about climbing
2) did a intro scuba dive course, this was scary at first, the fear of being underwater and something having to  happen made me extremely nervous. but i did it, completed it and now i would like to do the full scuba course. but i am still fearful and that is holding me back a bit. i think i need to grow a bigger pair.

3) went sandboarding in atlantis, also freaked me out a bit. but i did it and had loads of fun. i am a real chicken shit, lol!

4) i hiked lions head in january this year with a "guy" that i have known for years, we spent some time together over new years. i have been in somerset west since 1996 and i never bothered in the past to do it, so sad, there is so much around here to do!

5) and then there is the actual rock climbing, what an experience! the climbing was one of the things myself and the "guy" did together during the holidays. scary like hell! i always thought that i had a fear of heights, well after climbing 2 routes, one route twice and then the other, i dont think i have much of a fear of heights. we climbed at legoland in montagu, wish i could of climbed some more. after climbing only 3 times, i was pap, my arms couldnt hold me anymore. the weekend past i bought myself a climbing gear kit (2nd hand), but basically brand new and it was at a very good price. now to find someone to climb with, someone with a hell of a lot of patience.

there is a few other first times, but kinda more general things, like seeing new places.

oh and i did my first wedding crashing, so much fun, lol! all thanks to the "guy"
